The Work We Take On

We work on residential garage doors and openers in Arlington Heights and the nearby towns within about a ten-mile ring - Prospect Heights, Mount Prospect, Wheeling, Inverness, Kildeer, Riverwoods, Long Grove, Deer Park, Lincolnshire, Itasca, Bannockburn, South Barrington, Wood Dale, Rosemont, Roselle, Bensenville, Niles, Golf, Northfield, Hawthorn Woods, Mettawa, North Barrington, Schiller Park, Streamwood, Highwood, Bloomingdale, Hanover Park, Glencoe, Addison, and Barrington Hills.

Most of the houses we get called to were built between 1938 and 1977, with a good chunk of that stock going up in the 1960s and 70s. That matters because a lot of these garages still run original torsion hardware, older extension springs, and openers that don't match anything on a hardware store shelf. We repair broken springs, worn rollers, off-track doors, cable failures, and dead openers, and we replace doors and openers when a repair isn't the better call. We also handle the panel damage and hardware wear that comes with a winter climate that's hard on steel and hard on lubricant - doors that stick, drag, or won't seal at the bottom in the cold.

If you own a house in this part of the Chicago suburbs and something on the garage isn't working the way it should, that's the work we do.

Work We Turn Down

We don't do commercial rolling steel doors, warehouse-grade equipment, or gate systems - different hardware, different parts supply, different job entirely. We also won't quote a firm price sight unseen on anything beyond a straightforward spring or opener swap. A door that looks like a simple track repair over the phone can turn out to be a bent section, a bowed track from an old impact, or a jamb that's shifted with the house settling - none of that shows up until we're standing in front of it.

We're upfront when a repair isn't worth doing. If a door is old enough that parts are hard to source, or the springs and hardware are so far gone that a repair would just fail again in a year, we'll tell you replacement is the better use of your money instead of stacking a repair bill on top of a door that's done. That's not us trying to upsell - it's just what the job in front of us is telling us.

How to Reach Us

What we find

How to Reach Us

Call us at (224) 353-7691 to talk through what's going on with your door and get a quote started. We're based at 2948 W Euclid Ave, Arlington Heights, IL 60005, and that's also where jobs get dispatched from for the area we cover.

When you call, the more you can tell us the better: the brand and rough age of the opener if you know it, whether the door has one long spring across the top or two separate ones, whether it's making noise, sticking, or just refusing to move at all, and whether anything looks visibly bent or off track. None of that is required to get someone out to look at it, but it helps us bring the right parts on the first trip instead of a second one.

How we work

Who Does the Work

We're a garage door company that works this stretch of the northwest suburbs - Arlington Heights and the towns around it out to about ten miles. We don't have a company history to sell you and we're not going to invent one; what we can tell you is what we work on and how we price it.

A quote over the phone can only ever be a range. What makes it accurate is seeing the actual door: the spring size and count, the track condition, whether the opener is original to the house or a later replacement, and whether the wood jamb or header has shifted with age. Springs, cables, rollers, and openers all have a real cost that doesn't change town to town, but labor and parts availability do shift depending on what era of door we're dealing with - and around here that spans anywhere from doors built in the late 1930s up through ones installed in the last fifteen years. We'll give you a number once we've actually looked at the door, not before.

Questions

Common questions

Can you give me a price over the phone?

We can give you a rough range based on what you describe, but not a firm number. Spring size, track condition, and opener age all change the cost, and the only way to know those for sure is to see the door. We'll give you an accurate quote on site before any work starts.

Do you work on doors outside Arlington Heights?

Yes. We cover Arlington Heights and towns within roughly ten miles, including Mount Prospect, Prospect Heights, Wheeling, Inverness, and the surrounding area. If you're not sure whether your address falls in that range, call and ask.

My opener is old and I can't find the model online. Can you still work on it?

Often, yes. A lot of the houses we see were built decades ago and still run original or early-replacement openers. We carry common replacement parts, but if the unit is old enough that parts aren't made anymore, replacement may end up being the more practical fix.

What information should I have ready when I call?

Tell us what the door is doing - won't open, off track, loud, or just dead - and if you know it, the opener brand and whether the door has one spring or two. That helps us bring the right parts, but it's not required to schedule a visit.
